The Christmas Edition of Why Jesus?

What's so important about Christmas? Why should people still be celebrating the birth of a baby born 2,000 years ago?

Why Christmas? is a concise, easy-to-read study of the very real questions people may have about Jesus and why his birth, death and resurrection are central to the Christian faith.

Over 3 million copies of this popular booklet have been sold across the world since it was first published. Written by Nicky Gumbel, it explores why we need Jesus and how he satisfies our hunger for meaning and purpose in life, for life beyond death, and for forgiveness.

Exploring Jesus' claims, character and death, Nicky uses effortlessly uncomplicated language to talk about the freedom we receive from guilt, addition, and fear, and the freedom to know God, to love other people, and to change.

Why Christmas? is illustrated throughout by Charlie Mackesy, author of the best-selling book ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse’.

The booklet is designed to be given away at Christmas services and events and to anyone with questions about Jesus and the Christian faith.

This classic edition is thinner and lighter than the Expanded Edition which included excerpts from the Bible in One Year and is also still available.

Sections within the booklet include:

• Why celebrate Christmas?
• Why bother with Jesus?
• How do we know Christianity is true?
• Who is Jesus?
• Why did he come?
• Why did he die?
• Common excuses for not accepting the gift
• What do we have to do?
